Finance Factors Sponsors Golf Benefit for Junior Achievement of Hawaii

Finance Factors today announced it will be the title sponsor for the 8th Annual Junior Achievement of Hawaii, Inc. Golf Classic on Thursday, September 27, at the Kapolei Golf Course.  All proceeds from the event will go toward helping Junior Achievement of Hawaii continue its mission of teaching youth about business, economics and free enterprise.  This will be the sixth year in a row Finance Factors has sponsored the event – helping the non-profit to raise more than $100,000 over the years.

“Finance Factors has been a major sponsor and organizer of the Golf Classic for the last five years,” said Steven Teruya, President and COO, Finance Factors.  “This golf benefit is a wonderful way to raise money to help fund Junior Achievement programs, as Finance Factors has always been a strong believer in the organization’s mission to help educate and encourage today’s youth to excel.”

“Junior Achievement of Hawaii gets funding from a lot of different companies, but one of the core, primary supporters over the years has been Finance Factors,” said M. Steven Grant, President of Junior Achievement of Hawaii.  “What a lot of people don’t realize is that Junior Achievement of Hawaii is a non-profit organization – supported entirely by donations, grants and special events.  All of our educational programs are put on by volunteers and we count on the support of businesses and their employees to volunteer to teach our programs.” 
During the 2006-2007 school year, Junior Achievement of Hawaii’s volunteers served nearly 7,000 students in Oahu, Maui and the Big Island, helping to make economic concepts relevant through various programs.

Finance Factors has been supporting the non-profit for the past five years, and Teruya is a former chairman and current board member of Junior Achievement of Hawaii.  Over the years, numerous Finance Factors employees have taught several programs for Junior Achievement – reaching out to hundreds of youth.
