Finance Factors' Annual Benefit Breakfast Aids Local Organization
More than $7,000 was raised for the River of Life Mission

Breakfast 2008Finance Factors’ 13th Annual Benefit Breakfast was a huge success last Friday, as the company raised $7,300 for this year’s selected charity, the River of Life Mission.

Hundreds of people gathered in front of the Finance Factors Center on Bishop Street to make their $5 donation for the Portuguese sausage, eggs and rice breakfast platters. Select groups of VIPs were treated to a seated breakfast of Kukui Brand Portuguese sausage, omelets and fresh fruits. Other breakfasts were delivered throughout the downtown area.

More than 70 executives and employees from the Finance Factors Family of Companies helped to set up and prepare for the Benefit Breakfast, with more than 1,200 breakfast plates sold.

“Finance Factors is excited to report another successful Benefit Breakfast event this year, and we were pleased to have had the opportunity to support such a worthy cause as the River of Life Mission,” said Steven Teruya, president of Finance Factors. “Giving back to the community is one of the company’s top priorities, and every year we are rewarded with the opportunity to help a local non-profit organization.”

“We’d like to thank the many people and companies who helped make this year’s breakfast a success, including Akyth, Inc., Kukui Sausage Co., Rocky Road Products, Meadow Gold Dairies, executive sous chefs Michael Arita and Erwin Manzano of the Pacific Beach Hotel, the employees of the Finance Factors Family of Companies, and the many generous vendors, friends and colleagues in our downtown community,” Teruya added.

Each year, Finance Factors invests time and other resources to help raise funds for a wide range of non-profit organizations that are working to improve the quality of life for the people of Hawaii.

The River of Life Mission is a local organization that is committed to helping the destitute and needy in our communities.  The Christian-based organization strives to assist those in need of temporary emergency assistance with their rescue services, which include meals, shelter, clothing and social services.  For individuals that are poverty stricken, they also have designed rehabilitation and reintegration programs, which include job training, counseling, employment and life-skills training.

Finance Factors has been providing financial services in Hawaii for more than 55 years. Started in 1952 by six island families, the company has grown from a small kamaaina enterprise that pioneered personal loans for Hawaii’s working class, into Hawaii’s largest locally-owned depository financial services loan company.  Finance Factors specializes in residential and commercial real estate loans including low-rate residential mortgage loans, land loans, construction loans, home equity credit lines, as well as a variety of portfolio mortgage loans for properties and borrowers with special needs. Finance Factors also offers some of the best rates on certificates of deposit and savings accounts, with deposits insured up to $100,000 by the FDIC.
