Finance Factors Continues Tradition of
Giving with 15th Annual Charity Breakfast |
Finance Factors will hold its 15th annual Charity Breakfast on Friday, July 30, 2010 with all proceeds going to Making Ends Meet, a non-profit organization assisting individuals experiencing hardship to maintain financial independence. The event will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. in front of the Finance Factors Center, 1164 Bishop Street, where dozens of volunteer Finance Factors employees will prepare and serve breakfast to participants. A total of 1,000 breakfasts featuring a favorite local-style combination of Kukui Brand Portuguese sausage, scrambled eggs, and rice will be sold for $5. For ticket information, please contact Angie Hassett at 522-2000. "Finance Factors is excited for the milestone of the 15th annual Charity Breakfast and hopes to keep this tradition running for many years to come," said Steven Teruya, president and COO of Finance Factors. "This is a hands-on fundraiser for our employees, as they are up at the crack of dawn to prepare and serve the meals throughout the morning. It is a testament to Finance Factors' commitment to supporting charitable organizations like Making Ends Meet who are working to provide services for the community in this tough economic environment." Guest Chefs Michael Arita and Andy Nelson of the Pacific Beach Hotel will cater VIP breakfasts to be served in a special reserved seating area. Hosted by Teruya, VIP guests will enjoy gourmet, made-to-order omelets, fresh island fruit, sweet bread, Kukui Brand Portuguese sausage, rice, juice and coffee. Monetary donations to Making Ends Meet will also be accepted the morning of the Charity Breakfast. Making Ends Meet provides emergency assistance to individuals who have experienced a hardship such as illness, job loss, domestic violence, crime, or unexpected death in the family and are struggling to pay basic necessities. The non-profit was started in 2008 and promotes self-sufficiency, aiding individuals who are employed or enrolled in school and working to maintain financial independence or becoming independent of government assistance.
